With the first week weigh-ins down, the Biggest Loser contestants are in for a true “hell week” so to speak.
Host Ali Sweeney brought the first challenge of the week to the contestants testing their limits with time. The challenge, Alison picked random members of each team to participate in a doughnut eating heat. Whoever consumed the most doughnuts in a short amount of time wins the chance to choose which teams works out when.
Instead of the typical all day workouts the contestants are used to, this week, each team gets a two hour time slot to work out in the gym; either they workout from 5-7 a.m., 12-2 p.m., or 9-11 p.m. At first, it seemed as if the Blue team was the winners until Ali dropped a bombshell that Black Team member John consumed 37 doughnuts at over 1295 calories! (Do these contestants ever learn from watching previous episode what happens once Bob hears stuff like this?)
The Black Team took the 5-7 a.m. time slot, gave the Blue Team 12- 2p.m., and the Red 9-11 p.m., not without a jab saying that they, “Respected” the Blue Team implicating that they have none for the Red Team.
Inner turmoil ensues on the Black Team as Sunny and John go head to head over a comment made about Sunny being Dumb. Bob played mediator and somehow they managed to work out their differences long enough to do their last challenge of the day.
Dr. Huizenga pays the Biggest Loser contestants and runs down a list of their internal problems. Some ranged from the obvious of Diabetes while others had issues with their knees melding together or on the verge of bursting.
On their evening challenge, the 3 teams have to play a maze game over a pool of water. The team that gets their ball from the starting point to finish fastest wins a 2 pound advantage. The runner up will receive a chance at a one pound advantage.
In the end, it came down to the Black and Red Team and the Black Team managed to pull out the win within a mere 2 seconds.
There are still hiccups within season 12 of the Biggest Loser breaking in the two new trainers’ personalities and meshing them with the reality of the Biggest Loser Ranch and veteran trainer Bob Harper. Whether or not this season can hold its own still remains to be seen, however newcomer to the ranch Dolvett Quince is making his presence known and seems to have a knack for working with obese individuals. Can his tough love mentality work towards the Red Teams’ advantage?
At the weigh in, the dreaded 2 week blues seemed ever so prevalent as many contestants were upset over not losing more than the weight they have lost, the average being 6 pounds.
The Red Team lost a combined total of 35 pounds; the Black Team dropped an amazing 41 pounds and the Blue Team managed to lose 15 pounds, but thanks to Johnny’s weight gain of 2 pounds, it came to only 13 pounds.
In the end, the Blue Team chose to send Johnny home to finish his journey. Since being on the Biggest Loser campus, Johnny has loss a total of 15 pounds, since leaving campus, he’s lost a total of 59 pounds to date. Johnny plans to finish the marathon no matter what and the
