The passage above from Leviticus is considered by many to be also a rehearsal or foreshadowing of future events and therefore God’s people were commanded to continue in rehearsal every year at the time appointed by YHVH in scripture.
It is known without a doubt that the Spring Feasts of the Old Testament, Passover, unleavened bread, wave sheaf offering and Pentecost was fulfilled perfectly by Jesus, even to the exact dates.
Passover, the sin sacrifice of the lamb without blemish was done on the 14thday of Aviv and Christ was sacrificed the exact same day about 1500 years later, for our sins. As the children of Israel next passed through the red sea, believers in Christ after accepting his sacrifice, next pass through the waters of Baptism. During this time afterwards, Just like the feast of unleavened bread called for the putting away of leaven, so the Christian is suppose to put sin out of his life. This fits perfectly with Jesus’ doctrine concerning leaven.
Some 50 days later came the feast of Pentecost (or first fruits) where YHVH first shouted down his commandments: Moses afterwards brought down the 10 commandments in stone, written by the finger of God, to the people. Like wise this rehearsal or type foreshadowed the giving of the Holy Spirit on the exact same day. Only this time the same Commandments were actually put into their hearts and minds as was predicted they would be.
What does this have to do with Trumpets? Well, if God fulfilled the Spring feasts to the letter. He will fulfill the fall feasts, to the letter also. Many Old Testament prophets have assured us that this is a fact.
The Feast of Trumpets then, will begin the Fall Feasts, like Passover begins the Spring Feasts. Also like the Spring feasts had to do with Jesus’ first coming, so the Fall Feasts have to do with future events and his second coming.
There is a rich tapestry of family events and traditions that teach Biblical events and truths that has been long lost as the virgins (Churches) have slumbered and slept as they have waited for their LORD’s return. It is time to trim the lamps.
Mr. Reed is very please to see the movement in the direction of Scripture and believes this rich tapestry can be a guide to understanding scripture and teaching our children the truth. He recognizes that the Feasts of the Bible are Shadow pictures of God’s plan and that the feast days that have been chosen over the centuries came from paganism. From Easter which came from the Goddess Ishtar (Easter) who supposedly came to earth in an egg during the time of the spring equinox, on a Sunday; to the time of Christ birth, December 25th, which was the ancient winter soltice and also the birthday of Tammuz. Tammuz was the son of Baal and in some mysterious way he was also considered to be Baal. Easter was called the mother of God and wife of Baal who was called Nimrod in Babylonia. (Continue to part 3)
