On October 27, 2011, The Lifetime Channel aired Project Runway’s Season 9 finale Runway Show.
This finale runway showcased each designer’s unique sense of style and the finalists (Kimberly Goldson, Joshua McKinley, Viktor Luna and Anya, Ayoung Chee) showed complete collections during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Each finalist’s design aesthetic shined through as their individual collections graced the ultimate runway.
Designing the clothing was only half the battle, though. Styling them with the proper footwear, accessories, hair and makeup is also a feat in and of itself as the Judge’s (Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors) have pointed out numerous times.
So what were their footwear choices……..
Kimberly’s collection payed homage to the urban, Brooklyn girl. Brighter hues and prints designed with a more polished, urban perspective. Kimberly styled her collection with black wedge sandals and caged booties.
Josh dedicated his collection to his late mother. His collection displayed various unusal textiles done in impeccable ways and he completed his collection with tough, buckled booties and boots.
Viktor’s collection truly reflected his inspiration which was his nativeland of Mexico. He designed a print from a picture of his trip to Mexico with his late brother and used black pumps with a metallic accented toe and black booties to enhance his collection.
Anya, who was voted fan favorite and Project Runway Season 9 Winner, drew her inspiration from the Caribbean. Maxi dresses done dynamically! The cuts and flowing fabric were truly ‘Anya’ and she kept the styling simple and effortless. Her girls wore black flats, gold thong sandals as well as nude wedges.
