The Gosselin diss is in effect. Kate Gosselin, the celeb mom of 8 unleashed a “rude” Tweet on Twitter, and her wrath was directed towards Paul Petersen. Did the beloved actor, turned child advocate deserve the abrasive response from the reality television star?
Who is Paul Petersen?
If you are old enough to remember, or are a fan of vintage cable TV, he played in the Mickey Mouse Show as a Mouseketeer, and rubbed elbows with some of Hollywood’s elite like Sophia Loren and Cary Grant to name a few.
Perhaps his most memorable role was playing Jeff Stone in The Donna Reed Show (1958 to 1966). And if that isn’t enough, Petersen also is credited in authoring 16 books over his career. Kate Gosselin, are you listening?
“lol. He just needs a platform to hear himself talk… ~ The Gosselin matriarch.
A turning point in his acting career happened after childhood actor Rusty Hamer committed suicide in 1990. After that tragic moment, Paul Petersen founded A Minor Consideration, a charity that gives support and guidance to childhood actors, who are finding it difficult to cope. He continues today as one of the country’s foremost child advocates.
So Why Did the Gosselin Gloves Come Off?
According to Technorati, Kate Gosselin got word from a Twitter fan that Petersen was a guest on a morning radio talk show, and he was being too “judgmental.”
Child please; give the world a break! Is the Kate Plus 8 star and DWTS alumna jumping to conclusions? As far as she knows, the so-called Twitter fan is laying a landmine of controversy, and hoping for a bite. Voila! It didn’t take much for Gosselin to take the bait, right?
Anyone can see that she is hot behind the collar because Paul Petersen is pushing for stricter laws in Pennsylvania in the wake of allegations that Kate exploited her plus 8 child stars.
If his hard work and advocacy pays off, the state of PA will lead the way in making sure child actors are not exploited, have a guardian on set at all times, conform to the state’s laws on wage and earnings, and are monitored for coping under the stress.
Perhaps the Gosselin wrath is tempered a bit when Kate Gosselin realizes that eight other loving kids need their mom more than the camera.
