In Luke 17:21 we are told that, “The Kingdom of God is within you”. But just what does that mean to us personally and individually? How can this help us in our lives on earth? Is there a deeper meaning that lies within this scripture passage? And if so, how can we gain access and understanding of it?
Pray to God to give you the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to be able to grasp a new revelation and intuition regarding the above passage. Trust in your heart that God wants you to constantly learn more about Him, to know Him deeply and personally, and maintain a level of extreme intimacy with Him. God challenges us to better understand ourselves, Him and the truth about our existence and purpose by placing people and events in our lives, which are both good and bad in nature and severity.
Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) That is the assurance that we can count on to discover what it means to have the kingdom of God within us. Jesus also promised to send us the Holy Spirit- “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26) . Again, all the answers and resources we need can be found from within ourselves. God gives us all the wisdom, tools and help we need to fulfill His purpose and plan for us. But it is a “group effort” and we need to also co-create with Him. Think of it as writing the script of your life and destiny with the ultimate creator. There is nothing and no one that can stop this.
The Kingdom of God is not some abstract, unknown place beyond our ability to grasp or obtain. It is not found in churches, buildings, or structures. It can not be answered by the greatest of all scholars, priests, theologians, etc. It is neither in the past nor the future. A clue to consider is the fact that you are one with God and God is one with you. Really take a moment to let that statement settle in your bones and mind and heart.
God’s Kingdom is available to all of us, is here and now, is at hand. It is up to us to claim it, gain access to it, discover it, and apply it to our lives. If you can grasp the concept that the kingdom of God is within you, along with Jesus, then your life will take on completely different meaning. You have the tools and resources to make life whatever you want it to be, you’ll be able to achieve great measures, and tap into the divine and unlimited supply of love, knowledge, and life force that is living through you and in you.
You will begin to change your mindset and really grasp the fact that God is that real, that He is that close, and he is the co-creator of your destiny and life, that you have infinite powers, abilities, and opportunities to create the Kingdom of God both within you and around you. You will notice that your attitudes and beliefs change and ultimately open up your mind, eyes, and heart to seeing the world in a whole new way. And that will cause you to react and behave in ways you normally in the past would not have. Your boldness and confidence in Christ living within you will produce possibilities, hope, joy and peace like you have never known or experienced before.
I am still at the very early stages of understanding what this means to have the kingdom of God within me, but I wanted to share what I do understand and know at this point, as God has revealed it to me, in the hopes that each of you will dare to delve deep within yourself and discover the true joys, hopes and assurances of what this statement means to you and your life.
