The Occupy Detroit crowd equally ignorant as Occupy Wall Street. Across the country and in Downtown Detroit where the ‘Occupy’ protestors have congregated, reporters have interviewed them and they have no idea of American History or current events. They are directing their anger toward major financial companies when in fact their anger should be directed at government leaders.
President Obama and California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi support the protestors. Yet, Obama voted for TARP that bailed out financial companies. Little do these protestors know it was the policies of Obama and Pelosi, which caused this economic turbulence in the first place.
They also have no coherency. The signs displayed in Detroit were trademarks of anarchists. They definitely weren’t concerned about jobs and the economy. Their signs read Gay Rights, Fight Capitalism and End the War. Which war? Obama deployed troops now to Uganda last week. He acted unilaterally but the protestors were oblivious to that.
Obama also raised $70 million for his campaign last quarter. He always claims to be his brother’s keeper. Don’t count of President Brother’s Keeper to share some of his $70 million with the occupy crowd.
The protestors are avowed socialists who firmly espouse distribution of wealth. They want free health care. They want free education and compensation. If these squatters get their way, the can say goodbye to all the modern luxuries which enabled them to stage these protests. They’re will not be iPads, BlackBerrys, cell phones, Facebook because industrious people will lose all ambition. The competitive edge, which brings out the greatness in achievers, will vanish. Sloth will rule the day. We’re seeing with these people every day.
The Detroit occupiers marched from the Coleman Young Building to Grand Circus Park. There may have been 100 people at best. That’s if they were double counted. Ironically, thousands were expected. It’s amazing what pennant fever for the Tigers and inclement weather will do to discourage attendance. The human vagrants show no ambition. In fact, they seem to enjoy living in super-sized toilet bowls.
Surprisingly, 20,000 participants in the Free Press Marathon on Sunday shocked the squatters. These squatters could take some valuable lessons from the Sunday runners. The runners are driven, focused and committed to goals.
Nobody gave these runners anything. In fact, they had to pay participate. They pay for their health care and their equipment. They know only one person wins the race. These competitors have ambition and set personal goals. The runners don’t want anything free. They want to accomplish and earn their rewards.
The occupiers are oblivious to current events. Too bad these Riverfront squatters are also vacuous about life.
