Guest editorial by John P. Foster of “Occupy St. Augustine”
NOTE: “Occupy St. Augustine” date set for Saturday, November 5 from 1 to 5 pm at the old city downtown’s Plaza de la Constitución. An upcoming organizational meeting is planned for Tuesday, October 25, at 6 p.m. in the plaza.
“Occupy Wall Street” is in its 5th week of encampment in New York. The protest originated concerning those dispossessed of livelihood and homes due to jobs being shifted from Wall Street to offshore global corporations. More specifically, note is taken that 99% of the population is being swindled and forgotten in some manner by the 1% of world capitalists who own Wall Street, the Federal Banks, and International Banks. As Wall Street is being cut up by the New World Order of Global Corporations, a new rift has arisen. The American People have shown up to say Hey! That’s our “American Pie” you’re cutting up; and we’re here to “Occupy Wall Street” until we get our fair share! Conservative and Liberal alike have been swindled out of homes and retirement. It’s not a matter seeking social responsibility, but rather our legitimate right to seek return of that which is ours. That’s why the Patriots ousted the British, and that’s why we need to oust the New World Order of Global Corporations.
Conservatives and Liberals are coming together with very similar cause. The conservatives are saying we need to take back America, and get rid of the privately owned Federal Reserve, the liberals are saying we need to take back the stock market, and take back money stolen from us. Either way it amounts to the 99% population taking back the ownership of the world from the 1% of capitalists. Many people don’t realize the 1% capitalists privately own the Federal Reserve, and the right to print money. When they say “print a trillion dollars” it instantly becomes theirs, without backing of gold or silver. That money is borrowed into existence by the government on the condition that we taxpayers must pay it back to the capitalists, with interest. That money has also funded an unjust buyout of Wall Street. In capitalism, those who print the money make the rules. By moving their operations offshore, New World Order Capitalists have found they can engage in corporate trusts that would normally violate antitrust laws stateside. Our mega-stores, chain restaurants, even our military industrialists have become Wall Street shell corporations streaming their mega-profits offshore. They stole our stocks, our Social Security, our monetary system, and our jobs. It is time for them to give back what they have stolen from us. Liberals and conservatives alike are realizing; we were both swindled. We are the 99%. It’s time for us to come together. So the first step is come together and “Occupy”; Next step is workshops toward real solution.
What we need to do now is conglomerate the two concerns and fashion a New Deal! It may require greater scope than the “New Deal” given to us by Franklin Roosevelt. Whereas we already agree to restructure the Federal money system and stock market; We need to focus more on giving back to Americans what they rightfully deserve. Give us a new money system issued direct from the treasury, eliminating the Fed, its capitalists, and the national debt. Give every American a home asset fund, and an IRA (Individual Retirement Account) proportional to their age, in total debt freedom. In a New Deal we should require citizenship (not corporations), to own real property and stocks. Our national retirement needs to be based in industry ownership rather than levied taxes. Give us Individualism rather than Capitalism. Give every individual an equal start in life; Give every individual unlimited liberty to attain their highest potential in life; And give every individual security in their retirement life.
Perhaps in the spirit of Franklin D Roosevelt, we will once again sing the song “Happy days are here again!” but for now that day is off somewhere in our future. Today we need to address the homeless among us; and in this forum. In St John’s County alone, last year there were 493 reported cases of homeless schoolchildren, grades k-12. Here we stand with true American families. We stand with those who have been bankrupted, and dispossessed of home and livelihood. We stand united with the ones that the New World Order doesn’t want to acknowledge as being true Americans anymore. It is with these people we unite with in the inspirational words of Emma Lazarus. “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” ……And as we address our government, remember this; It is these tempest tossed people who built this country, and it is these same tempest tossed people who can take it back!
