China’s luxury hotel market continues to boom and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company will be adding two new properties in China as well.
Agreements have been signed with the Shanghai Greeland Group to open two new Ritz-Carlton Hotels in China – The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan, and The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian.
Both properties will be located in the tallest buildings in each of their cities. The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan will be at the top of the 606-meter high Wuhan Greenland Center, while The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian will occupy floors 64-81 of the 518-meter high Dalian Greenland Center.
With the new agreements, this will put The Ritz-Carlton with 13 hotels in China by the year 2017.
Herve Humler, The Ritz-Carlton president and chief operating officer, said of the agreements:
“We are delighted to be working with such dedicated and ambitious partners as Greenland on these two stunning hotels. These buildings will set the stage for stylish and contemporary Ritz-Carlton hotels in these two major Chinese cities. The Ritz-Carlton has long been known in China as the leading provider of luxury lifestyle experiences, and these hotels will allow us to showcase our product to a wider audience in China and show that we really do take luxury to new heights.”
The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan is scheduled to open in 2017 and the 330-room property will be located at the center of the Wuchang Binjiang CBD. There will be more than 2,500 square meters of meeting space, along with a health club, pool, and spa. Look for a choice of dining options and bars, including a 170-seat-three-meal restaurant and a 150-seat Chinese restaurant, set to feature 12 private dining rooms. There will be a lobby lounge that can hold 70 hotel guests and a 50-seat Ritz-Carlton bar that will showcase the spectacular city views. Probably the best highlight is the food and beverage options on the 119th floor of the hotel that will be at the very top of the hotel. Here diners can enjoy meals at 545 meters above ground, encased in a glass dome.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian will be located in the heart of Dalian’s Donggang CBD. This will be a 300-room hotel which will form part of a mixed-use development, offering guests access to a variety of restaurants, bars, and other facilities, no matter whether they are there on business or leisure.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company operates 76 hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean. Earlier this year, they made history as the tallest hotel in the world with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, located in Kowloon’s stylish ICC.
