After watching ‘X Factor’ contestant Melanie Amaro deliver the final live performance last night, avid Flint area fan Kathy Davis said, ‘When Melanie finished singing, all I could think of was ‘Eye of the Tiger’ song from the movie ‘Rocky’. She’s fierce, she sees her rivals and she throws down her vocals at everyone’s feet like a battle cry. She wants to win and she’s actually proving she can. The final 12 are all great, but Melanie got the last word again and she’s the one to beat.’
The judges all seem to agree. Amaro entered ‘The X Factor’ Top 17 as the underdog, who was initially cut by her mentor Simon Cowell, then invited back to the live shows. Amaro wanted to prove herself worthy of her place and delivered an electric ‘I’ve Got Nothing’ by Whitney Houston that brought the screaming crowd to their feet.
LA Reid struggled to speak against the thunder of the audience. When he could finally talk he said:
‘We really did save the best for last because Honey, you are un-be-lievable.’
Nicole Scherzinger was visibly teary-eyed and said,
‘I don’t know what it is about you, but I just connect with you every time. You’re so special Babe, you’re just so special and I’m so grateful that you are on this show.’
Paula Abdul added:
‘Melanie, I am so, so grateful that he believed in you and brought you back. We love you so much.’
Cowell finished off the remarks by saying:
‘First of all, I want to thank you 3 for giving this opportunity.’ Then he looked at Amaro and said bluntly, ‘Melanie you’re great. But, I now have to make the hardest decision I’ve ever made.’
The crowd continued screaming as Cowell first chose Drew Ryniewicz and then Rachel Crow for his final 3. As he deliberated his last pick, the crowd began chanting Amaro’s name: ‘Mel-a-nie! Mel-a-nie.’
With complete clarity and conviction, Cowell faced the remaining 3 girls and said ‘I’ve made a decision.’ He tried to quell the crowd, who was still repeatedly chanting: ‘Mel-a-nie!’ He finally said,
‘The final girl and this may come as a surprise, that I’m gonna put through to the final, and actually I believe after tonight she could win this competition–is Melanie Amaro.’
And so the 5 million dollar battle rages on, with America ultimately declaring the Victor. Melanie Amaro is clearly in it to win it.
Kathy Davis of Flint said:
‘Melanie Amaro’s definitely got her eye on her competition and there’s no doubt America’s watching her to see what she does next.’
‘The X Factor’ live shows continue for America’s votes on Wednesday, November 2nd, airing in Flint on WSMH FOX66 at 8 PM EST.
