It appears that TNA has decided to officially end one of the most successful tag teams the company has ever seen. According to a Wednesday October 26th report by Wrestling Inc.com, Robert Roode defeated James Storm for the TNA world title at Wednesday’s Impact Wrestling tapings. The fact that Roode won is not surprising, how he won is what’s creating the buzz.
Near the end of the match, Roode bashed a beer bottle over Storm’s head to get the pin and effectively turn Roode heel. This episode will air on Thursday November, 3rd. To make matters even worse, for the former friends and tag-team partners, Roode continued his heelish ways in the second set of tapings last night that will air on Thursday November 10th.
Storm was attacked backstage before his TNA title rematch with Roode. Storm still went out there to wrestle but collapsed once he got into the ring. Roode went to check on Storm and appeared to be concerned. However, as he got closer, Roode rolled up Storm for the victory.
Roode’s antics brought out Kaz and AJ Styles. AJ ended up challenging Roode for the title at TNA’s upcoming PPV Turning Point. Sting liked the idea and made the match, despite Roode rejecting it.
