St. Augustine – A “Teen Scare-Off” and scary storytelling contest tonight (Oct. 18) will be part of the St. Johns County Public Library’s “Teen Read” Week this week. The event will start at 6:00 PM, with winners to receive Barnes & Nobles Gift Cards. Teens who did not enter September’s Scary Story Contest are welcome to tell their favorite Urban Legend or Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark-type tale!
TEEN EVENTS NEXT WEEK:
Monday, October 24th: Teens have the day off from school! Sleep in, relax, and (if you get bored) come into the library between 10 AM & 5 PM and watch Halloween movies to get in the spirit!
Tuesday, October 25th: At 5:00 PM, get ready to spill your guts! PUMPKIN GUTS, that is! It’s the St. Johns Public Library’s fifth annual Pumpkin Carving. Bring your own design, or use one provided by the library. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! This is one of those fun traditions from your childhood that’s just as much fun (and just as cool) now!
Youth Services Librarian Alyssa Gilbert asks that parents or teens bring a camera to photograph the events. The library would love to have copies of any photos taken :)
