True Blood is still months away from its return to Channel 200 in Tempe with season five, but the information about the upcoming season is starting to come out now as the series prepares to start production. Spoiler TV reported on some of the new spoilers for the series on Wednesday, and E! Online also had some information about the season as well. If you missed any of the recently released spoilers for this series, go here.
What is out for season five? Witches are out. In fact, E! Online reported that Alan Ball had the set for the Moon Goddess, which was the hub for all the witchy activity in season four, torn down recently. No more witches to deal with in season five.
However, werewolves look ready to return as a focus for the series in a big way. Werewolves were a big part of the action in season three, and they stuck around in season four, even if they were in the background some. However, the series is now casting for at least three new werewolves. One is closely connected to Alcide, and it is said to be his father. Spoiler TV reported the following about the new addition:
J.D., is said to be a hard-bodied fiftysomething who isn’t likely to share a water bowl with the new pack leader anytime soon. And since 1) that sounds a lot like Alcide to begin with, 2) his pop features prominently in Charlaine Harris’ fifth Sookie novel, and 3) our resident werehunk was last seen being growled at by an unidentified wolf…
Two female wolves will also arrive, and this includes Marcus’ mother, Annie. A second she-wolf named Rikki will also look into Marcus’ death.
Fans are waiting to see what will happen next on this series. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
This flu turns out to have a real bloody silver lining. Almost done with season 3 of #TrueBlood. And there is so much blood left to enjoy!
True Blood will return to Channel 200 in Tempe with its fifth season in June 2012.
