This four-part sequel finds a devastated Luther returning to work at the newly created Serious and Serial Unit, headed by the former complaints officer Martin Schenk (Dermot Crowley). Luther’s first order of business is to keep his old partner Justin Ripley (Warren Brown) out of uniform. His second is to solve a series of ritualistic murders in historic locations while rescuing Jenny (Aimee Ffion Edwards), the daughter of an acquaintance, from the underbelly of prostitution.
