Up All Night’s new episode, Mr. Bob’s Toddler Kaleidoscope, which aired on October 12, 2011, explored a parenting issue felt by mother’s everywhere. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a mom who works outside of the home, guilt will inevitably follow – helped along by the often unnecessary judgments from those around you.
In Mr. Bob’s Toddler Kaleidoscope, Chris and Reagan enroll their family in a glorified playgroup instructed by Mr. Bob, where all parents are [Insert child’s name] mom/dad, and calm is key. Additionally, Reagan – I’m sorry, Amy’s mom – strives to find that balance between work/family/friend and being the best at whatever hat she happens to be wearing.
First of all, who knew there is apparently an art to playing peek-a-boo with your little one? Just, you know, FYI, you don’t want to be too aggressive, nor do you want to put the emphasis on the “boo.” Because “what baby wants their parents to terrify them? No baby.” That’s direct from Mr. Bob, folks. Live and learn.

Amy’s mom was feeling like she was seriously rocking the balancing act of all areas of her life, but Ava and Kayla’s mom would beg to differ.
Ava started off supporting Reagan in all of her balancing awesomeness, and then Reagan had to leave early from their annual date to see the newly renamed group, Manic Man-day. Enter cold shoulder and banning Reagan from writing her speech for an upcoming event.
Crazy-amazing woman that she is, Reagan managed to be hitting playgroup and taking care of work things, in addition to secretly writing Ava’s speech. For now, Ava understands that even though Reagan has a lot on her plate, she’s still on there.
Back to that playgroup, though. Reagan encounters a toxic stay-at-home mom (Kayla’s mom) whose mission is to make Reagan feel that she is less a mother for choosing to work. She is the woman who gives stay-at-home moms a bad name. Comments on crawling have Reagan putting Amy through crawling drills once at home; since Reagan’s above average crawling-wise, and all.

At the end of the day, Kayla’s mom is just as frazzled as Amy’s mom, and the two ladies just needed to bond over baby equipment that is never as easy to manipulate as it’s supposed to be. Granted I’ve never stomped down a stroller, but sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Even with all of the hilarity going on with Mr. Bob’s playgroup – especially Chris’s serious attachment and devotion to the process – the best moment of the night was Ava’s attempt at driving herself. As is so often the case with Ava moments, it’s best just to watch it in all its glory.
