The much anticipated toxicology reports for Zachery Tims’ cause of death are delayed once again.
Last week, the Director of Public Affairs at the New York’s Chief Medical Examiner’s office told the Christian Post the results were forthcoming. Initially the Examiner’s office indicated results would arrive Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Christian Post reported Friday, September 30, 2011 they are in daily contact with the Medical Examiner’s office. No reason was specified as to why the delays other than results were not ready. The toxicology results are expected to be revealed sometime next week.
Tims’ sudden death on August 12, 2011, created much speculation about the cause of death. Mourners, friends, and family members were shocked. Many unanswered questions lingered. What happened? Why? Found dead in a New York hotel room, was the pastor using drugs? They wait for results.
Tims past involvement with drugs raised suspicions after a white powdery substance, believed to be narcotics were found in his pocket. Tests were ordered for discovery. Initial autopsy reports were inclusive. Further investigation was underway.
At 42, Pastor Zach’s death left Florida’s megachurch without a leading pastor. Many wondered if Tims’ ex-wife would return to lead in the pulpit. In response, Riva Tims posted this on her Facebook page.
“In response to so many of your inquiries… I have gotten an overwhelming response from my New Destiny Family to come home and/or at least minister to them. However, I have not been contacted by NDCC staff to return or to assist in the transition. I will continue to pray and cover NDCC,” Riva wrote. “That the vision Zack and I birthed will continue! Thanks for all of your love and prayers.”
NDCC continues to mourn their beloved pastor.
According to Paula White, pastor of Without Walls International Church, Tims left these final instructions. New Destiny Christian Center should only mourn for 30 days and be ready by the 31st day to continue its work.
