September 15, 2011 – The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley claims that by episode 3 of the new season, his character Stefan becomes a complete guilt-free ripper.
On the extremely anticipated premiere episode of CW hit vampire series, we rejoin Stefan and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) as they embark on their bloody road show. As viewers know from the end of season 2, Stefan reluctantly agreed to go on a human killing spree with the evil Original vampire.

While at the beginning Stefan is still plotting against Klaus to keep his friends safe, especially his girlfriend Elena (Nina Dobrev) and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder). However, it doesn’t take long for Stefan to fully give in to his natural vampire instinct.
Speaking to TV Guide, Paul and TVD exec-producer Julie Plec reveal that while it will take some time, Stefan’s full-on ripper self will arrive by episode 3.

“There’s the Stefan who just can’t stop once he gets started …” Julie said, “and then ultimately there’s going to be the Stefan that doesn’t care anymore and that’s the most dangerous Stefan. When that happens that will take the most to recover from.”
Paul also said that he loves this new guilt-free ripper and claims he can be just as bad as those “other” bad boy vampires on the show.

“The truth is, I can be a dark guy like any other, but I love humor, and I love goofing off, and I love being silly, and playing a character that’s constantly burdened for years, it can be a little depressing after a while.” Paul told EW on a recent interview, “To play a character who has absolutely no conscience, that literally felt like taking a load off my shoulders.”
He also added that he was growing tired of always playing the good guy.
“There’s a lot of hidden darkness about Stefan that I think people will be pleased and surprised to see.” Paul said, “To make it really simple, I’m kind of sick of always doing the right thing.”
