Today I share with you the conclusion to my interview with a great Florida cosplayer: Deisha Strater. The first part of this interview can be found by clicking on this link HERE. It is a great read and I hope you enjoy it and today’s second half as me and Deisha discuss her cosplay experiences as Len Kagamine from Vocaloids.
7. What do you personally feel when you are portraying the character and why do you choose to cosplay her?
“I feel happy when I am cosplaying him. Not only because he is my favorite, but also because I get to cosplay with my best friend. “
8. What are people’s reactions to you when you are in costume?
“The reactions vary among the person. Typically vocaloid cosplayers and fans like us will be happy to see us and often start talking with us about vocaloid. Courtney and I have received a lot of compliments on our costumes we work so hard on. Sometimes from people who don’t even know where we are cosplaying from. “
9. What was the hardest part about bringing this charcter’s personality wise?
“The hardest part about bringing the character to life is the fact that the personality is all dependent on how the each person views them. We really don’t know what a vocaloid really is like on a daily basis when they are off the clock and done singing. So we just have to wing it.”
10. Did you ever get any special recognition for this costume?
“No I did not. Even though I did enter my Project diva costume into a contest. However I am happy with just the happy looks I see on other peoples faces at a con. Its wonderful.”
11. What videogame character would you like to portray next?
“I am actually working on a lot of video game characters for the rest of this year and the next. A few are ” Rival” from Pokemon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. Bartz Klauser in his Dancer outfit from Duodecium( its a DLC outfit ). Barbariccia from FFIV , Link (Adult) from Ledgend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and I am fixing up my Bridget cosplay from Guilty Gear.
Oh and Fayt from Star Ocean3.”
12. Lastly is there anything you would like to convey to the readers?
“Have fun with what you love to do and never let anything stop you. Don’t ever look down on yourself and think ” I can’t be this character” . Trust me I do that a lot. Just muster up the courage and go through with it ! It never hurts to try.”
It was great catching up once again with Deisha. Make sure to check out the slideshow to see Deisha in all her cosplay glory. I look forward to her future cosplays and in turn her future interviews to discuss her fun times in the cosplay world. Good Luck Deisha.
Stay tuned next week for another great cosplay interview.
