She may not look like the beautiful girl she truly is under all that matting, but it’s nothing a good bath and grooming can’t fix.
Violet’s fur is so matted that it makes moving around, going to the bathroom, or just getting comfortable very difficult for her.
But there’s more. She’s also suffering from kennel cough and emaciation.
Violet (A14125091) was brought to the shelter as a stray. She has been determined to be between 5-10 years old, a miniature/poodle who is very underweight — only about 8 pounds.
If she is lost, her family has not come looking for her, and by her appearance, she may have suffered neglect in her previous life.
So poor Violet is waiting for someone who would be willing to rescue her.
It would be nearly impossible for her to recover in the shelter because she is in such a weakened state. She can barely walk.
She really needs to leave the shelter as soon as possible, and will require one-on-one care urgently, and time to fully recover.
She will not get that time at the shelter due to, once again, lack of space but also because of her health condition. Animals with health problems are at a much higher risk of euthanasia, so this puts her in the extremely urgent category.
If you or someone you know can show Violet care and compassion (first of all, by getting this little girl groomed to relieve some of her suffering), and can nurse this sweetheart back to health, please do it quickly. You can be sure she’ll return the unconditional love you will have shown her once her strength returns.
Remember to share for Violet because sharing saves lives.
She is located at ACCT 111 W. Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
