Go to the pre-war 1967 borders? You mean before when the Arab and Muslim countries practiced racism and bigotry before and after 1967?
Why is the November 29, 1947 resolution 181 ignored which would convert then Palestine to an Israel, and passed by the General Assembly in which the Palestinians and Arab League rejected? This action led to the mass expulsions, the exodus and killings of Jews in Arab countries now critical of the most minor indiscretions that Israel does in its own country. What about the major human rights violations done in Muslim countries?
Mass persecution nearly eradicated Jewish populations in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and so forth. While the Holocaust was fresh in the minds, many Muslim countries took up where Adolph Hitler left off. Israel is still waiting for the correction of these atrocities that came on the heals of the Nazi’s genocide.
At the United Nations, Israel has been barred as a member country of the Asian group by the Arab block refusing to acknowledge that Israel has a right to even participate in the region’s functions. Even though Israel is in Asia, it is part of the Europe block in an outrageous display of placating the Arab block of nations.
The travesty continued in 1975 when a group of Arab nations consisting of Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Cuba, Dahorney, Egypt, Guinea, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liberia Arab Republic, Mauristania, Morocco,, North Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Yemen, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates sponsored a bill to make “Zionism” a form of racism and racial discrimination. This highly bias and questionable action was reversed in 1991, the only UN resolution ever revoked.http://www.zoa.org/sitedocuments/pressrelease-view.asp?pressreleaseID=856
These are the same countries that practiced the highest form of bigotry themselves while trying to make a case of discrimination against Israel regarding Palestine. Each country has a horrendous record of human right abuses against other religious faiths, particularly Jews and Christians. It’s an outrage anything regarding “human rights” should come from countries as Sudan as horrific its track record is on human rights.
The historical record of anti-Semitism is guiding the voting process now with the Palestinian issue as the world has stacked the deck with anti-Semitic countries with abusive records of human rights and countries that have a dislike for Israel.
Yassar Arafat of the PLO said, “There will be no presence in the region other than an Arab presence”. You can at least commend Arafat for his honesty.
Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority does not differ with Arafat’s view. Maps of the region whether politically or in the Palestinian school system of grades 1 through 12 have no mention or representation of Israel on their maps. This is the man who spoke at the UN last week and submitted a request of Palestinian statehood.
Abbas’ counterpart in Mahmoud Abadinejad of Iran has routinely talked of “erasing Israel”. Both of these characters were given high status at the UN in the most hypocritical display or claiming one thing and doing another.
It’s socially, politically and intellectually ludicrous to expect Israel to co-exist under the pretext of the obvious effort to wipe out its existence. The track record of human rights violations against the Jews is the most demonstrated in human history. Anywhere Muslim authority has been executed, the Jews have done quite poorly maintaining.
Expecting Israel to hand over territories such as Jerusalem to a PA with Hamas political control and a leader that eliminates Israel from any map is too mind numbing to comment.
