With a name like “Food & Wine Festival,” you’d think that the annual event at Epcot would be all about the vino. It’s definitely a celebration of wine, but don’t think that there aren’t plenty of other adult libations to choose from. If you’re not fond of wine, or you like to expand your horizons, look for the specialty drinks on the various menus.
For example, Poland is featuring a Strawberry Balsamic Martini. Click the video at left to learn how to make it yourself, although personally I’d rather just get it at the best.
Other interesting beverages include:
-Frozen Rock Coconut Mojito (Caribbean)
-Green Tea Plum Wine Cooler (China)
-Frozen Red Stag Lemonade by Jim Beam (Fife and Drum)
-Parisian Cosmo Slush (France)
Beer drinkers won’t be disappointed, either, as many of the food booths have a tempting array of exotic brews from around the world. Beer even has its own spot, at the Hops & Barley booth, where I plan to try the cream stout.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off today, and it runs through November 13. Check back this weekend for my full review of the food booths, including food porn photos.
Although Epcot is a great place, it’s not quite what Walt Disney envisioned it to be. Click here for a video of his plan for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
