Ye Mighty! Productions is a budding production company with a mission to showcase exceptionally talented under-exposed musicians, comedians, and other artists from the Boston area and beyond. This venture is the creation of Zach Eisenstat, a former financier who could not resist the allure of the Arts and so left the banking world to pursue his passion full time. With Ye Mighty! Productions, he aims to develop a new type of arts environment in Boston, where unconventional show formats and an independent spirit create a unique cultural experience.
The Hoot features the following performers:
M.C. Scared Pete- MC Scared Pete is life. MC Scared Pete is art. MC Scared Pete is lart. (Like a combination of the two…yeah, dog, I just made that up. Tight.) The rapper and entertainer, the dopest MC you never heard, has been trying to build up the courage to captivate and enlighten audiences with his unique flow and improvisational skills ever since he can remember. You’ve heard of hip-hop? Well, this is hop-hip (Get it? Because he’s turning the game inside out). He’s even on Facebook. Most importantly, Scared Pete keeps it real, dog…real smooth. How do I know this you ask? Because I am Scared Pete, and I just wrote this whole thing. That’s what’s up. If you want to holler about anything let me know.
Bethany Van Delft – Bethany Van Delft discovered her greatest love, smoked meat, while performing in the 2010 Just 4 Laughs Festival in Montreal. She is a founding member/producer of “ColorStruck: Women of Color in Comedy”, co-producer of the fabulously fashionable “The Dress Up Show”, and a regular performer in the Boston Comedy Festival. She can be seen on Comedy Central mobile’s “Funaticos!” She will definitely win something and/or be on TV by next year.
Rob Crean – Rob Crean is a stand up comic, improviser, writer, and founder of Anderson Comedy. He performs in bars, theaters, colleges and Legion halls all over the North East.
ARTiculation – Articulation is a Boston based poetry troupe whose dynamic poetry-meets-theatre performances promote the arts. This collective group of poets act on their mission by making the arts scene accessible to the Boston community. Produced by Company One, ARTiculation’s mission is to create an atmopshere where art is created, accepted, produced, and enjoyed by all all in a fast paced society.
Pamela Passion– Pamela Passion is a dancer trained in ballet and modern dance. She currently performs with Sugar Dish’s award-winning Babes in Boinkland burlesque troupe. Her most treasured roles include “the Slut” in The Slutcracker 2009, “the Whore” in Babes in Boinkland’s “Abbey Road,” and “the Dildo” in Slutcracker 2010. Pamela also dances with several local modern dance companies and has guest performed with some of Boston’s most talented acts, including Axe 2 Ice Productions, Bitches of Destiny, and Black Cat Burlesque. She hopes you enjoy the fine sampling of delectable dancers she has hand-selected for The Hoot.
Camden – Bedrooms are the new basements and that is exactly where Boston, MA based Camden was born. In the summer of 2008, founding member Jason Sibilia began experimenting with making electronic pop songs in his room. After realizing the limitations of performing live with just one person, he recruited friend Jim Williamson (Vocals/Bass) to bridge the gap between music made on the screen and the ambitious live performance for the stage. The duo continued to write and record throughout 2009 and 2010 and eventually solidified as a 4-person lineup with the addition of Tim Miles (Guitar) and Jason Bergman (Drums).
The group has continually brought their style of dreamy pop songs with big drums and blown out guitars to various stages in Boston and New York City. Coming off a recent 6 month stretch of writing and playing, Camden released, “Totally Fine” on July 12, 2011, via Cash To Mouth Records. With the release of their second three song EP this Summer, and another EP to be released this fall, Camden is set to have a busy year.
Old Abram Brown – Over the past year, Old Abram Brown’s reputation and fan base have been steadily expanding with the completion of two of the largest publicity ventures in the band’s history. The Old Abram Brown Blog Tour, an ambitious and innovative project in which live performances of all 9 songs from Restless Ghosts were filmed and subsequently premiered on various music blogs over the course of 9 weeks, managed to bring in listeners from diverse corners of the internet. Notable blogs included Consequence of Sound, YVYNYL, The Wild Honey Pie, and The Muse In Music. View the entire collection at www.oldabrambrown.com/blogtour. In the summer of 2011, the band embarked on a significant US Tour with the Virginia-based band We Are Trees. Playing in esteemed rock clubs, DIY venues, and bars throughout the US, including NYC’s Pianos, Detroit’s The Magic Stick, Minneapolis’ 7th Street Entry, and Kansas City’s Riot Room, Old Abram Brown was able to bring its music directly to enthusiastic fans across the country. During this time the band also recorded an intimate studio performance for the legendary Daytrotter Session, set to be released in September 2011.
