What person living in Las Vegas hasn’t heard of Zumanity? The billboards tease us as we drive around town. Despite the advertising, I didn’t quite have a grasp of what this cirque show was about. Well it can be described in one word. SEX!
Now if you are reserved and don’t like hearing about sexual things, I suggest you close this browser now. If you are open to new experiences or want to live outside your normal box, I suggest you read on.
First of all, you must show up early for the preshow. Some of the cast mingles with the crowd and the innuendos start flying. This is a great time for people watching. The person sitting next to me was giggling like a schoolboy who acted as if he was seeing a Playboy for his first time. The audience seemed like it was a good mix of ages and cultures. What was surprising to me is it seemed there were more females in the audience than men.
The cast was getting crazier as two very curvy women who looked like twins were throwing strawberries into the crowd. At one point they were arguing over a customer and pressed his body between their flesh. I don’t think I have ever seen a bigger smile.
The show starts and I am a bit surprised. Izzy, a horny woman right out of a 1970s cocktail party, is cruising the audience for a boyfriend. She quickly finds Mr. Right Now, and introduces him to her Husband Dick. Then the playful yet dirty conversations begin.
One thing you need to know about this show is there are many things going on around the stage. So where Dick and Izzy might have been the focus of the party, the woman standing topless next to a piano might draw your attention. This goes on throughout the show. Look around and you will be surprised at what you see.
At one point a satyr came racing to the stage on all fours. The man jumps like an animal onto stage and goes into a series of acrobatics. The amount of skill each one of these performers has is amazing. As the satyr grunts and dances, he is joined by Wassa, she performs what some would say is an erotic tribal dance. (I have been to many strip clubs and have never seen a woman who can shake her tail feather quite like Wassa.) The crowd is fixated on the dancer’s ability to vibrate her butt. It was quite a show.
During the show the Mistress of Sensuality guides you through your experience. There is an experience for everyone. I shortly found out why there were so many women in the audience. A well-built gentleman came out handing out roses to all the screaming ladies. When he ran out of roses, he started to remove his clothes. For a moment I thought I was going to see a lot more of him then I personally wanted to, but a well-placed bouquet of roses prevented that, to my relief and to the ladies sitting in front of me, their dismay.
As Ariel shows a projected naked woman above the audience and silk shows that blew your mind. I was very impressed by a lady with hula hoops. I understand it might have been the short schoolgirl outfit, but when you see what this woman can do with hula hoops, you too won’t be able to keep your eyes off her.
Do you need more convincing to see this show? How about two naked women swimming in a large glass of water? Their naked bodies press up against the glass for everyone to see. Where they are nimble in the water, they are even more amazing outside the water. They balance their bodies onto the rim of the glass and perform these sensual poses with a contortionist twist.
Just like many shows, you see the energy that is building in order to make it to the climax. Well since the show is of a sexual nature, it is only fitting that the end of the show is a giant orgy. As if on a Lazy Susan, a smorgasbord of sexual positions is displayed. As the cast rotates around the stage the moans and groans can be heard. Even some audience members are invited up on stage to be part of the orgasmic ending to a wonderful show.
Just in case you get the wrong idea, no one is really having sex. They are indulging you with imagery that conveys the message without committing the act. It truly is a wonderful show. The imagery reminded me of Mid Summer Night’s Dream with the audio track of Enigma. Everything in the show is sensual mixed with a bit of humor. The pom-pom scene almost made me spit a drink out of my nose, while the ladies in the water glass made my mouth dry enough to drink the whole glass of water. Not to mention all the parts of the show I didn’t mention.
